Tasting Notes

A vegetable wine, whaaat??  Prepare yourself to be surprised by the deliciousness of these root vegies.  A beautiful clear burnt orange colour that smells of dried apricots, plum and fresh tobacco.

Sweet on the palate with strawberries, apricots and raisins, managed to skip the earthiness you might expect from beetroots but it does have depth and a lovely weightiness with nice lingering acidity.

Enjoy chilled or at room temperature.

Wine Making Notes

Carrots and beetroots in their late winter prime were peeled, chopped and boiled then poured over dried cherries with freshly squeezed tangelo and lemon juice.  Fermented for 3-4 months then bottle aged for 11 months (released Nov/Dec 2023)

Due to no fining agents there is a bit of natural sediment in these bottles, they aren't harmful, but I wouldn't drink them!  Store upright.
