Golden Plums, Passionfruit + Pineapple Wine

Tasting Notes

Bright clear yellow on sight.  For aroma, picture yourself sitting on a freshly manicured lawn with an open can of pineapple in one hand and a just cut passionfruit in the other, take a deep breath...

Then take a sip and be transported to Club Tropicana; passionfruit and pineapple smooching on the dance floor of your tastebuds, acidity smiling down on them and it's all fun and sunshine.  There's enough for... well 27 of you, if you took a bottle each, sorry the drinks are not free! (Please refer to the lyrics of Club Tropicana by Wham, circa 1983 if you are completely confused on where I was going with this!!)

Winemaking Notes

For such a tropical type wine, it ironically was made in the dead of winter (2024), which is how long it takes for my passionfruit to ripen.  Golden plums from our lovely tree (RIP) were residing in the freezer until everything was ready.  The pineapple most unfortunately was not grown by me, but some hard working folk in Indonesia.

All put together and fermented together, a second addition of passionfruit was added before the end of its ferment.  Bulk aged for 6 months, bottled in February 2025 and released in April
