Carrot, Beetroot + Cranberry Wine

Tasting Notes

If there existed a thyme flavoured bubblegum you would be reminded of it in smelling this wine!  The colour of autumn, clear and beautiful.

You'd be hard pressed to guess that this was made from vegetables; a smooth, medium wine that is better on the second sip.  Rockmelon and orange pith with herby undertones.  This is a great cheese platter or dinner wine, think light fish meals, pork or hearty couscous salad.

Winemaking Notes

The carrot and beetroot came from Bruce, our local Eketāhunian organic vege grower. There's also a spot of kūmara in the mix, and cranberries that hailed from Canada.  The veggies were boiled up then poured over the squished cranberries, sugar and jasmine green tea.  Started in January 2025, done by May, bottled in July, released in June 2026.
