Red Plum Wine

Tasting Notes

A lovely orangey-red colour, vibrant with fine legs.  Smells like a crisp cold river burbling over plum rocks..

This, is the red wine you want to be drinking in summer; refreshing acidity with fruit forward notes of plum, peaches and gooseberries ~ very more-ish, might need two bottles!

Winemaking Notes

Pretty simple really; plums harvested in January from our big beautiful plum tree of unknown variety, haphazardly mashed and macerated with sugar for three days, then some water, nutrient, yeast and hey presto it's a straight up plum wine... well after a spell or two!  Fermented out to a dry 14%, bottled in April 2024, released October 2024.  Will continue aging nicely for another 3 years.
