Grapefruit (from Dannevirke) + Rosemary Wine

Tasting Notes

A pale golden yellow wine that smells like orange peel and fresh green leaves.

It has a lovely balance of sweetness and acidity, plus just enough bitterness from the grapefruit skins to get your mouth watering.  It reminds me of the sea for some reason, without the saltiness!  Perhaps it's wanting to be drunk near the ocean 😉

Winemaking Notes

In August 2024 the kids and I harvested 150 grapefruit from a glorious friend of a friend's tree in Dannevirke.  They were then all hand juiced, with 30 zested and put together with a touch of dried kawakawa, fresh rosemary and spring water.

After about five months some French oak was added for a month before being bottled in 2025 and aged for over a year.  Released April 2026.
