Wine Tasting Notes

Red-ish, pink-ish, orangey colour, perhaps salmon pink, but should I mention fish whilst describing wine??!  Smells like watermelon candyfloss.

There's nothing too complex about this wine, just a juicy plummed up taste with mouthwatering acidity that makes for a great everyday wine!

Winemaking Notes

A blend of golden plum wine (plums from our property), damson wine (damsons from Lindy McLachlan's property in Pahiatua) and a smidge of lemon + lime wine (lemons from Wairarapa, limes from Ashhurst); all within a 55km radius, and all 2025 vintage.

Now for the story....

Stella may be an everyday wine, but it's not named after an everyday gal.. Stella is my friend's daughter.  Over 21 years ago, I had the honour of being my friends pregnancy co-pilot and birthing buddy (amazing!).  The week I bottled this wine was the week that Stella turned 21 years old, it felt fitting to name it after her, and to make it a double whammy of a celebration, I've priced it with her age too (if this doesn't sell out by August 2027, it will be going up to $22!)
